Tony W. Buchanan, Associate Professor of department of psychology at Saint Louis University,visited the Engineering Psychology Laboratory, the Institute of Psychology, CAS during October 16-20, 2012. Professor Buchanan received his Ph.D. from University of Oklahoma. His research interests include how psychological stress affects attention, learning, memory, social cognition and decision making, by using measures of the endocrine system, autonomic nervous system, somatic muscles, and eye-tracking methodology. During this visit, Prof. Buchanan reported their researches on "stress and cognition", and had a heated discussion with the teachers and students about the recent results of the laboratory. Also, he gave some constructive suggestions on the future studies and trained lab member on stress-related research technology. This visit promoted the laboratory's research related to "stress", laid the foundation for further cooperation.
